Terms of Use

Last updated: 6 August 2026

These Terms are the agreement between you and the publisher of Brim ("Brim", "we", "us") covering your use of the Brim app on iPhone or Android. By downloading or using Brim you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

1. Health disclaimer — read this one

Brim is an informational and tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. The doses, protocols and articles in the app describe published research on creatine monohydrate in general terms; they are not a prescription for you personally.

The muscle saturation percentage is a mathematical estimate derived from the doses you record, using kinetics published in the peer-reviewed literature. It is not a measurement of your body, not a blood or muscle test, and it can be wrong — most obviously if you do not log accurately.

Consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any supplement. Do not use Brim as a reason to delay or ignore medical advice. Take particular care, and speak to a doctor first, if you are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, have kidney or liver disease, or take prescription medication.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use Brim on devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service or the Google Play Terms of Service, whichever store you installed from. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, resell or redistribute the app or any part of it, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

Where these Terms are silent, and for installations from the App Store, Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement applies.

3. Subscriptions

Brim is free to download. Brim Pro unlocks logging, the full history and forecast, protocol switching and the complete library.

Prices are in US dollars and may differ in your country and currency. The exact price, period and any trial are always shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.

Renewal and cancellation

Refunds

All purchases are handled by the store you bought from, and refunds are governed by its policies — we cannot issue them ourselves. For the App Store, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, request one at play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory.

4. Acceptable use

Use Brim lawfully and for your own personal use. Do not attempt to interfere with the app's operation or security, or to obtain paid features without paying for them.

5. Your content

The dose history and plan you create in Brim belong to you and stay on your device. We do not receive, host or claim any rights over them. Keeping a backup is up to you — deleting the app deletes the data, and we cannot recover it.

6. Our content

The app, its design, its text, its illustrations and the saturation model are ours or our licensors', and are protected by copyright and other laws. Research findings summarised in the app are described with a citation to the original work; we claim no rights over the underlying studies.

7. Availability and changes

We may add, change or withdraw features, and we may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use Brim after a change means accepting the revised Terms.

8. Warranties and liability

Brim is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of your use of Brim. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Apple and Google

Neither Apple nor Google is a party to these Terms, and neither has any responsibility for Brim. Where you installed from the App Store, Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Any claim relating to the app should be directed to us, not to the store.

10. Termination

You may end this agreement at any time by deleting Brim. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these Terms.
